this has happened on 5/6 occassions now not on the trot but every now and then. The last time was yestered where he had chargrilled chicen, chips and peas. We were finishing out meal and out of nowhere no warning he threw up him meal. Thre was no crying, coughing and he wasnt jumping around. He was fine didnt feel ill or look ill. He was happily playing at the table with his friend. Im really scared of taking him out now but am at the same time wondering why its happening? We dont eat out that often but it seems to happen more when we go out then when we stay in.

Hi

This doesn't sound right. I am not a doctor (a vet!!), but think unexplained vomiting needs to be looked in to.

I suggest 2 things:

  1. Keep a diary for the next 4 weeks of what he's eating at each meal, if he's sick and if there are any accompanying behavioural signs. (Take this with you to any medical appointments).
  1. At the same time go and visit your GP and get an investigation underway which may or may not involve other tests (e.g. stool sample analysis) and / or a referral e.g. to a paediatrician.

Don't get panicky - it is most likely to be something trivial like a behavioural trait or worms (common things are common!) - but don't leave it unresolved.

Good luck - I'm hoping this will be a distant blip in your parenting experience very soon!

I wonder if it might be an anxiety thing.

Maybe the first time it happened it freaked him out and he sort of expected it to happen again?

Or maybe he hurries his food, or is too excited to concentrate on whether he is full up or not?
