what's the best way to deal with this sudden fussiness?

DS2 has been a good eater until the last few weeks. He will eat any quantity of yoghurts, biscuits, dried fruit bars etc but is getting very fussy and doesn't really want to eat any fresh fruit or a lot of his meals.

What's the best way for me to deal with this? Take tonight for instance, he didn't eat his tea but I know he would have eaten yoghurts if I would have given them to him. I didn't give him any as he hadn't eaten his meal - is this the right approach or should I not make an issue out of it and give him yoghurt??? I'm really confused and I'm terrified that he will go the way of his older brother. BTW ds2 is 15 months.

thanks

i'd probably just give him yoghurt so he has something if he'll eat it and not worry too much. 15 months is still pretty young to be eating 'properly'. i think if you keep offering healthy foods, the problem will sort itself out eventually. i think 15 months is too young for them to really play you about just eating sweet foods etc. good luck!

Personally I think 15mo is way too young to send to bed hungry.

When DS refuses tea (which is often ) I give him pudding anyway as I don't want sweet food to be seen as a reward/treat. Then later on I will give him a bit of toast or something before bedtime.

Disclaimer: DS is 26mo and a very fussy eater so maybe I've been doing it wrong all this time...

thanks

He didn't want his bedtime milk so maybe he is still feeling under the weather from the bug he had at the weeekend. I'm just so hypersensitive about the whole eating issue as ds1 has turned into a nightmare. I just need to relax.......

Ds (also 15 months) has started getting fussy in the last few weeks. A bit of a shock after he has eaten everything I've given him previously.

With ds I just carry on offering usual meals, and if not eaten give things like plain yoghurt/toast/bananas (nothing too exciting!), so at least he gets some food into him. Ds's also started not wanting to eat fresh fruit. I'm trying to offer a wide variety incl tinned fruit (always likes this!)
