How old was your DC when they stopped using a buggy board (if they ever had one)?

DS is 4.5. He does walk when I make encourage him but still loves to go on the buggy board when I let him.

I would like to buy a new lighter buggy for DD, and like the look of the Baby Jogger City Mini but have been told that a buggy board won't fit it properly. Do I go ahead and ditch the buggy board or is it unfair to expect a 4.5 year old to walk everywhere?

I got one for DD when her buggy broke, she is 3.5 and i really didn't want to buy a new one - now she scoots around like nobodies busuiness, just be sure to teach him to stop before he gets to the road.

No help but DD is 3.2yo & uses it rarely now. She walks 90% of the time.....

My Niece is 4.9yo & would happily go on the buggy board all the time!

I think its when its there they will use it

If I could ride a buggy board to school I would

At 4.5 I would make him walk unless it is a 5 mile hike.

My son was 3.3 when he started nursery so he walked 1/2 mile there and 1/2 mile back. He would have definitely walked further if there was an ice cream waiting at the end of the walk

My dd stopped when she was 2.8 months as she choose to walk everywhere instead. However my freinds little boy is now almost 5 and still uses his.
I guess it depends if your typical journeys are short enough to expect her to walk.

DD at 2.8 would walk 2 miles to town, round the shops and then 2 miles home.

4.5yo, ours also broke. DS2 was already at school then, but I didn't want him getting overtired and I needed him to be reliable about getting there. 4.5yo was about right for DS2, who is easily the most energetic of DC. DS1 was reliable on a scooter at 4.5yo, but DS2 was not (IS not). So you need to judge your own child.

My friend used one for his DD in the mornings until she was 6.5yo, he didn't want (could not physically manage) to leave 10 minutes earlier to walk at her slower pace. Perfectly reasonable of him, imho.
