Toy recommendations for boisterous 7 mo

DS is seven months old and is getting bored of all the cuddly, rustling, squeaking toys of babydom. I play with him a lot which he loves but sometimes I need to put the washing on or make a cuppa! He is a real little boy, loves bouncing, banging things, shouting, trying to pull things apart and eating things he shouldn't.

What kind of toys have been a success with yours? First time mum here and don't want to spend a fortune on things that will just get puked on and abandoned!

hi artifarti am a first time mum as well. my little boy is 10 months.i think every baby have there own tastes so what i did was just buy some toys from a car boot sale and just sterilised them. i soon learnt what interests him the most. he loves building blocks. he just loves putting them in his stacking cups. that seems to keep him entertained. hope this helps and good luck teatank

BIG cardboard box ( or if your feeling posh A basket) with stuff in. by stuff I mean, empty plastic bottles, cardboard tubes, boxes, wooden spoon, a few baby toys that make noises , what ever really. I used to sit my boy inside the box , cos we used a big one, some babies like to sit next to or in front of low box/ basket, and let them have a good old explore. Chewing cardboard is not teh end of teh world.
At that age boy also liked playing with stuff tied to his baby gym, sitting by it or lieing under it still, I had some small bells tied to it, I could hear from the kitchen or garden if he was happy cos the bells kept jingling.
playing together- we did quite a bit of ball play, and him knocking over tubes that I then stood up again. His obsessions were about what noises he could get from things, so he did lots of shaking stuff and hitting things on the ground.

My son loved Baby Enstein Entertain and Play (I think its called that). It has a seat that babies can stand up in and rotate to play with the various toys attached to it. It looks a bit like a walker. I used to put my son in it while I got on with things and it was a godsend. A bit expensive though at £60
