2 worry or not 2 worry? Not talking at 19 months

DD is almost 19 months and apart from mum and moremum, doesn't say any other words. She points, grunts and completely understands us. DS was chatting away by this stage. I'm not too concerned, just think she's the lazy little sister, getting everyone running around after her DH is getting a bit worried though.

What are your 18 months up to? Any reassurances for DH very welcome

My DS has only really started talking at 25 months and his vocabulary is increasing at an amazing rate.

I was never that worried as he always understood what we were saying.

Another thread about this.
All my DC were late talkers. All turned out to be quite articulate, though DS (4yo) has a dx of mild speech delay (hard to understand some of his sounds). He may need speech therapy.

i was told never worry unless at 2 still no words then its worth going to seek help

children all come along at different rates even at 2 a few months later could be chatting away they only say to seek help at 2 as speech therapy waiting lists are so long and early intervention is the best

but alot of progress just happens over night and all children at different rates if at 2 has less than 50 words then just seek help to get on waiting list easier to come off than go on it and always best to get help early just in case

doesn't mean anything seriously wrong but if you noticed as got older still not talking much your already half way there on speech therapy list instead at bottom if speech progresses normally you can come off list easily
