Lazy eaters!!!

DD is lazy!
Its so obvious. She just can't be bothered to chew a lot of things!

Like today, done a pasta carbonara, she had a small piece of garlic bread, looked at her dinner & said "I can't do it" ..I ignored her...again "I can't do it" this went on for 10-15 mins of me telling her she could!
In the end I fed her 2 forkfuls, in total she's had a tiny bite of garlic bread and 3 pieces of pasta....

Then she said "I'm hungry" I told her she's just ignored dinner and she's getting nothing else and she was bathed and put to bed..

DS is copying her now with the bad eating

Any tips? Advice?

Tia

Btw DD is 3yrs 1mth - Small built (90cms & 13kg) & DS is 23mths & 93cms & 16kg....

I seem to remember some of mine going through phases of this.

I think you have handled it well by not giving in and giving her something else to eat. If she realises she will go hungry if she doesn't eat what she is given, she will start to eat again.

Try not to make an issue of it (I know it is extremely irritating and frustrating to cook a meal and see it go in the bin). If she doesn't eat it, put it in the fridge and reheat it for her later if she complains about being hungry, if it is something you can reheat.

She will no doubt grow out of it pretty quickly though. I think sometimes they use food to push the boundaries.
