Last week DS woke up and he had 8 big red bites on one leg which have since gone down and left little scabs now. This morning he woke up with two big bites on his other leg. I have no idea what can be biting him. He wears his P'j's and a grobag at night, I change his bedclothes about twice a week. I can't imagine that mosquitos are around yet so not sure what I can do to prevent this - any idea????

i have seen mossies round the water butt already!
I sprayed dd's room a couple of weeks ago for the same reason, I think we do get some biting spiders too ewww
Try to spray his room? pillow under cover etc but spray & shut the door for while?

Do you have pets? When my cat had fleas, this happened to my boys - we had to fumigate them and the carpets

Sounds like cat fleas as it's that time of year. The bites are so bit because he is obviously scratching or having a slight reaction to them-probably the latter if he's never been bit before. I don't think it's warm enough for mozzies in the UK yet

They could also be spider bites and you can recognise these by the two little puncture marks. I'd just put a bit of calomine or antiseptic cream on.

I thought they could have been flea bites as the cats sleep in his room but I've checked the cat and can't see any sign at all of fleas - I've washed EVERYTHING in his bed today! What can I spray his room and bed with to get rid of fleas, mozzies or whatever it is biting him?

I got a spray from the vets (quite expensive) to put around edge of carpet in their bedrooms and especially by the radiator - they will be where it's warm.
