tripp trapp

Monkeyandbooba · 25/03/2009 09:31

At 2.5 DD was sitting on the dining chair.

Gorionine · 25/03/2009 09:32

She seats on a booster seat strapped to dining chair. it saves space.

stealthsquiggle · 25/03/2009 09:33

tripp trap - booster seat at other people's houses (or sometimes, increasingly, just on the chair - but she is tall)

CMOTdibbler · 25/03/2009 09:34

Tripp trapp

littleducks · 25/03/2009 09:35

a chair

midnightexpress · 25/03/2009 09:36

Booster seat on dining chair. We got fed up of tripping over the high chair legs.

Would love a tripp trap but they're hideously expensive.

booster on chair

Jojay · 25/03/2009 09:40

Thanks.
DS1 has a Babydan highchair (similar to tTripp Trapp) which he used from 6 months and still uses now, minus the baby bar.

Ds2 is 5 months and will start solids soon, and I'm debating whether to buy another one or not.

DH wants to use the booster strapped to a dining chair for DS1, but I'm worried he'll tip over - he tends to push himself away from the table and jump off his chair.

He did exactly that on a booster seat ages ago, and went flying over backwards, and I'm worried he'll do it again.

DH says he's old enough now to learn not to.

Opinions please...............

He's not tall enough for a chair yet, or not our chairs anyway

Tripp Trapp

I have a soft booster cushion/chair cover for both dd1[3.3] and dd2[2.2] which is great. There is a strap on it but I havent used it since they were about 18mths old. It is just the right height to make them able to reach table properly

CMOTdibbler · 25/03/2009 09:48

Buy an Ikea Antilop for your DS2 - by the time he grows out of that, your DS1 will be on a normal chair/booster no problem, and you'll have only spent 15 quid

stealthsquiggle · 25/03/2009 10:04

He should be fine on a booster seat - your DH is right, he will soon learn.

OTOH, if the BabyDan chair 'grows' with them like the tripptrapp then DS (6) still uses his so another one for DS2 would be a reasonable investment.

Simplysally · 25/03/2009 10:06

I bought dd a plastic high-chair top from Mothercare which sits on top of a normal chair - invaluable if you're going somewhere that might not have a highchair. It was about £20 as far as I recall but this was 7 or 8 years ago.

Tripp Trapp and I will probably buy another one if I have another baby. Because her feet are supported, DD seems to sit really well at the table whereas she squirms and fidgets on a booster seat.

ruddynorah · 25/03/2009 10:14

normal chair.

trixymalixy · 25/03/2009 10:14

tripp trapp without the baby bar. I'll be getting one for the new baby as well as it will last my DS for years yet as it grows with him.

Flibbertyjibbet · 25/03/2009 10:33

Our boys are 2 and 4 We have two tripp trapps which our boys each started using with baby bar at 6m and without from about 18m for ds1 and 16m for ds2.
At other peoples houses they sat on a dining chair with cushion.

chuckeyegg · 25/03/2009 10:55

Still in his high chair but he is so wriggly. Keep telling his dad off for getting up and wandering off.
