He will be 3 in 3 weeks. We started potty training 3 months ago and within a day he'd learnt how to pee on the potty when asked to. since then we've got no further. He only uses the potty when I put him on it. Ask him if he needs a wee and he always says no. Have tried offering a range of rewards as an incentive for him to be a bit more independent thinking at first he was just being lazy but have watched him closely this weekend and he often doesn't even notice he is peeing until he's soaking wet.
He hasn't done a single poo in the potty and today has pooed twice on the bathroom floor (Even though potty right next to him).
We are getting increasingly stressed/ pissed off with him peeing everywhere and having to scrape poo out of his pants after months of being gentle, full of praise etc. Am considering back to nappies or trying pull ups as a kind of half way measure.
p.s HV just said some children take ages to "get it", nursery useless and a bit vacant.
would welcome some advice/ views

iv got 6 kids n rightly or wrongly iv always left them until they've wanted to come out of nappies id leave him in them atleast till summer wen its warm enough for him to run around with nothing on, i just dont think it helps wen u end up getting stressed cuz they see the potty as something that makes mum angry n wont use it the oldest one of mine has been is 3 and a half so it works

thanks. I think I will go for pull ups from tomorrow for a while. He kept saying "sorry mummy, sorry mummy" while I was cleaning the poo off the floor. cErtainly don't want him to feel upset about it all. I asked him if he wanted to wear pants or nappy tomorrow and he straight away said "nappy"

tbh my oldest daughter was my latest because i think i pushed her too early n made her fell guilty wen she didnt really know the signs for wat i was expecting of her since then iv ignored all advice n let them decide for themselves n its worked perfect

Praise, patience and rewards worked for my DS1. He turned 3 in the april and started his pre-5 nursery in the August so we had the whole summer for him to run around with no pants on . We had a few accidents and more than a few deliberates and for the longest time he wouldn't poo in the toilet no matter how much he was bribed
