babies cry loads, right?

This is a ridiculous question I know.

DD has a cold and we both have thrush but other than that we saw the doctor yesterday so I know she's probably not iller than that.

She is crying and crying and crying. She will stop if you hold her under the arms an jig her but there's only so long I can physically manage that. I've tried the food/nappyeverything else options

Will she be psychologically damaged by being so cross all the time? Lots of babies cry a lot, don't they???

Yes they do, but all babies are different. How old is she?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 20/03/2009 13:02

Pop her in the pram and go for a walk - even if she carries on crying you shall have been out and got some fresh air and exercise.

The crying won't seem so loud outside either.

I had a screamer, much sympathy.

She's 5 weeks.

Thanks Bald, i shall do exactly what you suggest.

plantsitter my first was like that - and yes some babies do cry a lot - as long as you are feeding on demand and she is getting enough sleep (every 2 hours) then there isnt much more you can do...

can you borrow a battery operated swing maybe?

Rosebud05 · 20/03/2009 13:26

Yes, but mercifully they do stop eventually. Agree that a walk is a great idea. It does and will get better.

weebump · 20/03/2009 13:32

Yes, plantsitter. They cry cry cry. My lo used to cry an awful lot, even after feeding. We used to rock her in our arms and stomp about singing songs from musicals to help her stop. Turned out she was tired, and just cried till she fell asleep - in our arms, in the pram, wherever.

There are other causes for crying, and even a cold can make her feel miserable. going for a walk is a good idea.
