Is dd (5 months) really missing her daddy?

DD was 5 months yesterday and has for the most part been a really good sleeper at night (she's terrible through the day but that's another matter).

DH started training for his new job last week, which means he is away during the week and back at weekends. Last week dd's sleep was terrible. She woke two/three times in the night, staying awake for up to two hours each time and took 2/4 hours to get off to sleep in the first place. I put this down to growth spurt/teething, all the normal reasons and joked with DH that she missed him.

DH came back at the weekend, angel baby returned and dd slept through with one dream feed each night friday - sunday. DH went back on his course yesterday morning. Last night it took two hours to get her to sleep, she was in bed at 9, woke at 12, 1, 3.30 and stayed awake chatting/squealling until 5.30.

What's going on? At five months can she really be missing her daddy? Our routine is no different whether he's home or not and she's exclusively bf so that's not changed. Any of you lovely ladies got any ideas? I'm very tired and am being a useless mummy to my DS (5.5) as I so knackered. Thank you.

She's just picking up on your stress with dh being away. If you try to stay calm then she will sleep better, hence her sleeping better at the weekend.

I did wonder that. I'll have to get some Rescue Remedy!
