The Wiggles are an absolute godsend and we found them by accident!! My toddler loves it, I can put that on and it calms her down in seconds, very good if your child has tantrums!!

You think that now but you wait till your toddler spins round a la Captain Feathersword, gets dizzy, bangs her head and starts running round shrieking

maxpower · 23/02/2009 20:45

bizarrely I saw Leo Sayer in one episode recently - as if the wiggles aren't scary enough...!

MrsPurple · 23/02/2009 20:49

there touring uk in June. Really good family concert, we've been to 3 (between 2 DD's). Only cost £10 a ticket which is very reasonable

Egg · 23/02/2009 20:50

You need to speak to Frumpygrumpy and Harrogatemum. They are die hard fans .

My DS1 loves The Wiggles. First time I saw them I wondered what the attraction was in four middle aged men. Now I see it. Even my DTs (13 months) love it. DS2 jumps up and down when it comes on.

Agree with you beckah, it can calm mine down too (but I hate to put tv on to calm tantrum as I usually use it as bribery to stop tantrum ).

Everytime we watch it DS1 allocates us all a role (you be Anthony today mummy, DS2 can be Wags the Dog, DD can be Murray etc etc.....).

Sad Greg had to leave though.

Egg · 23/02/2009 20:50

OMG a tour!

DippyDino · 23/02/2009 20:51

The Wiggles are a very odd bunch.

Must admit I find them 'oddly charming'

Though that Dorothy the Dinosaur is a mad old bitch.

InTheScrum · 23/02/2009 20:52

We can't stand the Wiggles. Scare the living daylights out of DS1.
I'm sure none of them would pass a CRB check...

dilbertina · 23/02/2009 20:53

My dc really really love a wiggles christmas special....now that gets a bit wearing.

MrsBoo · 23/02/2009 20:55

The Wiggles are great - sadly my DC are growing out of them and so I may not get to see them again in concert!

Ohforfoxsake · 23/02/2009 20:56

There's a thread on here somewhere about the Blue Wiggle doing push-ups on YouTube. Tattoos and all. I quite enjoyed it

Anthony is the best, remember him in Manchester, he stopped the whole concert to rescue a child who was in danger of falling into orchestral pit. Nice guy. Haven't really taken to Sam the one who replaced Gregg

My little one loves the wiggles too but dp calls them the weirdo wiggles! i have to say i think women get away with this type of thing more so than men, they make me cringe slightly but if it keeps dd1 happy then i can cope with them. I do like the music tho...'''get ready to wiggle dum de dum de dum de dum'''

beckah80 · 24/02/2009 09:15

Just read some of the posts. I agree on some level about all of the comments. they are weird but loveable, I think Anthony is the cute one (blush) and Murray looks like an oddball (lurch) Sam isn't great and I didn't know there was one that left but, as I said I found them by accident (free wiggly sampler dvd) in magazine. My toddler can't say more than "Mummy watch wiggles" but she loves captain feathersword. She laughs at his misfortune! Odd sense of humour she has developed! I rarely use them as a tantrum calmer but, when I want to cook dinner and she is under my feet it is a fab distraction!! I am going to try to get tickets for the concert someone mentioned JUNE was it?

Is it just me or are we really slow in the excitement of the wiggles??

My DS2 adores them, we have all their DVD My MIL indroduced them to us, she was a speical needs teacher.

They were all training in early years education (3 of them) and had to do a music peice and it went from there.

It does get wearing, but I know all the songs and at least they have good messages.

We are off to York to see them in June, having just been to the cinema to a speical viewing of aan austrialian concert.

eidsvold · 24/02/2009 09:27

oh god - you cannot be an aussie kid if you do not know the wiggles. They are like gods among the under 6 set here. My dds love them. They do concerts in Aus every christmas and we go along.

If you do not know - they are actually trained early childhood teachers. They were also in a rock band called the Cockroaches. Wiggles took off and the rest is history as they say.

They are brilliant.

eidsvold · 24/02/2009 09:29

dd3 who is not yet 2 can sing a number of their songs. IN fact she sings Dorothy, dorothy would you like to dance with me when I put her in her beach dress after swimming lessons. ( It has dorothy on it).

thehairybabysmum · 24/02/2009 09:31

Are they on in York TMH?? Where..??

TheMadHouse · 24/02/2009 09:35

here are the venues and dates

Also they have done a song with Kylie here

Macdog · 24/02/2009 09:39

The Macdogs are all going to see them in Glasgow this year. I think I'm more excited than dd is

Macdog · 24/02/2009 09:42

Anthony doing pull-ups

Enjoy!!

thehairybabysmum · 24/02/2009 10:03

Im off to get tickets at lunchtime!! DS will be delirious!!

Egg · 24/02/2009 12:59

I got tickets for London on the Saturday (4 July I think).

Woooohoooooooooo!

I told DS1 today. He is excited. No idea how we will get there... months to plan it though.

Anthony is by far the best looking, although Greg had a certain appeal too . DS1 seems to like Sam, but calls him "The wrong Greg".

Beckah sorry hope you didn't think I was criticising you using Wiggles to divert tantrums. I have done it MANY times .

Egg · 24/02/2009 12:59

Somehow I failed to realise that while I type this, DS1 is watching his "Wake Up Jeff" Wiggles DVD .
