He is constantly hungary. Still on 3 bottles of milk a day, has breakfast of weetabix, milk and bananna, snacks, lunch finger foods and evening meal large portion of what ever we are having and a desert.

If i have friends around with their babies and they are feeding he begs at there feet like a dog and gets very upset. If i am in the kitchen he pulls at my legs crying for food. I dont mind i was just wondering Is this normal at his age?

Maybe he is having a growth spurt?

trixiethepixie · 17/02/2009 18:39

Normal.

Mine is still like this at 15 months. He can have a big meal but if he sees me even eating so much as a round of toast will start giving off a bit. I usually just break him off a small bit of what I'm eating. Not sure if I'm doing the right thing but I can't see the harm in it at this age.

What size are the bottles? Have you upped the formula strength? Is he a bundle of energy - moving/crawling?

angel1976 · 17/02/2009 19:28

I think it's normal! We always joke that my DS is like a dog, whenever we are eating, he always crawls at our feet wanting whatever we are having! The novelty does wear off slightly... DS is now almost 1 and we have noticed that though he still 'begs' for food, many a times he will have it in his mouth and then spits it out if it is not to his liking. Mind you, doesn't stop him coming back for seconds...

Isn't dangerous not to adhere to instructions on how to make up formula? I was always told not to do that because you could cause kidney damage.

Dottoressa · 18/02/2009 08:38

Normal. My DD was like this as a baby, and is still like it at 4.8. DS was not and is not. They're both normal!

I do try to watch it a bit with DD, who would happily eat for England. She always wants seconds, so I do things like give her half her portion first, then she feels that she's getting two lots but in fact she's getting what she'd have had in one go if she were a different child. IYSWIM! But that's a long way down the line for you...

Normal. Ds still does it at 3. As long as they are active and burning it off don't worry it won't hurt. It will tapper off at some point (around the age of 18 according to MIL)

I meant using one for hungrier babies, not loading up the bottle so it's like gloop
