Please come and tell me this is perfectly normal behaviour in a 6yr old boy.

My DS often stuffs things up his jumper and sometimes down his trousers like soft toys or other items of clothing. He does it secretively because if I walk in on him he hides it and has an embarrassed look on his face. I have just ignored it so far but I am wondering what this means if anything. Grateful to hear if anyone has got any experience or ideas?
TIA

Are you pregnant? Is anyone you know pregnant?

It's not him doing it that is unusual - it's the embarrassment. Have you questioned him about it? - he may sense disapproval.

I wonder if he has been or seen other children at school play 'mummies and daddies'?

If by normal you mean common/widespread then no, it's not. You need a chat - but in a light-hearted "What's the big joke then" sort of way. Has he seen smoething on TV where people shoplift?

No I'm not pregnant and nor is anyone we know.

When I say 'embarassed' it's more of a silly embarrassed than a shame embarrassed if you see what I mean. When he was about 5 he sometimes wanted to do 'plays' where he was a mermaid or sleeping beauty or princess or whatever female incarnation. He used to include me in the play as the narrator. He lost interest in that after a while and has been more interested in other 'imagination' games like superheros etc.
I think he is playing at being a woman. Just not sure if should make a deal out of it.
Hassled, when I've said "what are you up to then?" in a jokey kind of way he says 'nothing' gigglingly. So I've let it drop.

Coldtits, when he did 'plays' he didn't want his dad to see or be part of it.
