can she blow really, really hard?

if not it might be an a&e thing. don't want it going manky/getting infected

My mother made me sneeze with pepper when I had a pea up mine. It came out.

fryalot · 29/01/2009 18:53

I would leave it for a little while, certainly don't try and dig it out, you'll only end up pushing it further in.

Give it an hour or so and see if it comes out itself, failing that, give NHS direct a call and see what they suggest...

Ah pepper - good idea. She stuggles to blow her nose and just ends up sniffing back up!

Thanks guys

My friend went to A&E with this and I think they got the daddy to blow really hard into his mouth. Worked a treat. Failing that just pop to A&E yourself. good luck

Oh that's it, it's called a something kiss, can't remember how to do it!

JodieO · 29/01/2009 18:57

Could try sucking it out with a straw.

You may be able to remove an object from a child's nose using the "kiss technique." Do not try this if you are uncomfortable with it, your child says it hurts, or if your child becomes upset by your attempts:

Apply pressure to close the child's unaffected nostril. You can do this or the child can help by holding his or her finger on the unaffected side of the nose.
Blow a puff of air into the child's mouth. The positive pressure of this puff will help push the object out of the child's nose. You may need to repeat this activity several times.

Block the nostril without the raisin up it (by pushing down on it with your finger), blow through the mouth and the raisin will pop out.

I have done this to dd2 a few times (she has ASD and likes putting things up her nose), we did end up in A&E last year and she needed to be knocked out to remove a bead .

A&E.

flamedude did this, and flame had t take him to A&E. was very simple, but you do need someone else to do it in case of possible damage by the intruding instrument.
