Finger painting

Not sure this is the right place for this...

My DD (9mths) has done some finger painting at nursery and I would love to do something like this with her at home but all the paints I have found are for older children.

Is there a reason for this other than the obvious mess that would ensue? I assume all kids' paints are non-toxic?

Finger paint pictures on windows/glass doors - look great and easy to clean up when you get fed up with them.

Thanks for the suggestions I will give them a go when I have some help on hand to clean up afterwards!

film painting too. no mess! squeeze some paint or blob finger paint onto paper then lay a sheet of cling over the top, secure with masking tape then let you little one squish and squash the paint under the film, great feeling and no mess! peel off cling and let dry!

shaving foam is great for messy play too, and easy to clean up!
