DS is 15months and now has a bath with a just a bath mat, he's just discovered how to shuffle along and turn on the bath tap.

I'm worried he'll turn on the tap and give himself a blast of hot water. Where can I get some sort of safety device for the bath taps?

Have you turned down the temperature of your household water to around 45C? I think that's recommended in houses with young children in any event. My understanding is that it's enough for most hot water purposes but not enough to burn even the tenderest of skins.

not sure they exist, i have looked but not found any. my ds does this too so i just tighten the taps really tight so he can't turn it, it seems to work but obviously not if you have those modern lift up taps. i will keep an eye on this thread and see what people come up with!

US and Canadian advice it to keep your boiler thermostat set to 48-49C (around 120F) at most if there are young children or dependent adults in the house (remember what happened to Princess Margaret).
