20 mo ds is growing out of highchairs, so looking for a booster seat to have at home/take out and about/travel with etc (so needs to be compact). There are so many out there so any suggestions as to the best? Also, what is max age they will sit in one for? tia!

Bumping for you.

Well I rather like the Kaboost for older children. Makes them feel grown up because they are still sitting in a chair like everyone else, so should last til a good age (dd nearly 3 and still plenty of use left in hers).

Also looking for something like this and would like a recommendation if poss, anyone....?

I use the Fisher Price booster seat and I'm very happy with it www.amazon.co.uk/Fisher-Price-Healthy-Care-Booster-Seat/dp/B0002VZ21E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby&qid= 1231934859&sr=8-1

How old is your dc ils? Curious because there's no way that dd would agree to sit in something like that now.

Our 20mo now has small chair and table to eat ehr dinner on if we're in living room, sits on normal chair with cushion at table if in dining room and normal chair or our lap when we go out. We do have a booster thing (also fisher price one i think) but she climbs onto the table and cackles with laughter when she sits on that. She doesn't care that she can barely see her dinner for some reason!

handysitts are great (but pricey) - very well made though.

dd1 has just stopped using hers at 4.4 (and she is very big for her age)

Thanks for the info guys, any experience of either of these?

I've used the chair harness and it's pretty crap. It's okay for dire emergencies (it folds up really small and fits into change bag) but no good for everyday use.

We have use a Tripp Trapp highchair so don't have this problem at home, but use this one for going to people's houses and take the yellow tray off. It straps securely to the chair and you can adjust the height for the table.

We have the Concord Lima (sorry can't link am using iPod) it very stylish and folds into carrybag. It does suffer the problems of having fiddly corners where food gets trapped, but the covers are machine washable. It is similar to a handysit, but fits more styles of chairs and can also be used free-standing on the ground. It also comes with a (small) removeable tray which was handy in the early days or when table space is tight. DD is 22 months and is still happy and comfortable in it

Dont know what it is called but i'm pretty sure it was a mothercare own brand seat- the best thing since sliced bread for our ds. It folds up into a bag has a foam seat covered with wipeable material, fixes onto the dining chair (i didn't come across a chair it didn't fit) and then has the straps to secure dcs. It was fantastic, i think mine is still doing the rounds with my nieces/nephews. Cost around £25.
