One yr old daughter like a jack in a box in her cot...help!

My one year old daughter has always been a great sleeper. She can now pull herself up to standing in her cot, even with a sleeping bag on and when she?s been well tucked in. The problem is, is that once she?s up, she can?t resettle herself, until my husband or I place her back down, this can happen several times a night. I?m sure this is just a phase, but has anybody else experience of this, and is there anything else we can do to help her.

sorry, I don't have much to help as DS (13mo) is doing the same! The only thing I can do with him is feed him back to sleep (he is still bf), but recently he has seemed asleep until he touches the mattress when he instantly wakes up again and struggles to his feet.
Mind you, he was better after he got back to pooing every day - don't know how you control that though!

Sorry, no helpful advice as DD didn't do this and 13 mo DS can't pull himself up yet. However, if it's any consolation, I think they do stuff like this a lot while it's a newly learnt skill and has novelty value so hopefully will die out soon. DS was like this when he first learnt to sit up on his own but couldn't get back down - it happened every night for a week or so but rarely now.

hey, my ds went through this when he was about 8 mo. I got him some cot toys and tied them near the bottom so he had to be sitting down to play with them. Worked for me! They are still there, but he doesnt have much interest in them now, i am sure you will be able to buy older, more interesting cot toys though!

no help here but perhap some consolation:

dd has never been able to resettle herself - these days I hear the wail, stagger in, lie her down and shush/pat her off again while hardly waking up myself

dh says 'was she up much in the night?' and I'll say 'um... can't remember'
