baby monobrow....

I know this is probably a very "wrong" thing to bring up but, my 1 year old has the beginnings of a major monobrow, which runs in his fathers family. Obviously i wont do anything about it at such a young age, but i wonder about teasing when hes older and therefore if theres anything that can be done about it.
I expect alot of replies stating that it should be left and kids get bullied no matter what and i agree, thats what part of me thinks and what i will probably do. However i am interested in anyones experience of doing something about it?

Is his father Alistair Darling?

You will probably find his face will grow into it and it won't be so noticeable in a year or so.

I would only worry if the hairiness spreads to his palms.

surely it means he will be handsome like his daddy?? when i was younger i had mega eyebrows (think like madonnas daughter) and it looks like ds2 has inherited this....thing is i've convinced myself that he is going to look extra handsome because of it...not swarthy but rugged!

you mustn't entertain ideas about doing something about it...surely it would be a confidence knocker...other children have more issues to deal with...ds1 has a huge scar running under his jaw line where he had to have lymph nodes removed and its a bit puckered.....i don't plan on pointing it out to him and hope he just grows up feeling its part of the way he looks

thanks for replies. i probably will leave it unless it gets really bad. However its something that should be easily fixed unlike other things. I have quite major scarring on my face from a car accident and that doesnt bother me too much, but if i could pluck it off i would. cheers.

bloomin heck, i think i'm dyslexic! i read the title as 'baby bone marrow' . i wondered why when i clicked on it everyone was trivialising it talking about eyebrows . i'd leave the eye brows though, there's not much you can do anyway. i'm sure as he grows i'm sure no one will notice and also it's ok for boys to have one anyway! i'd be more worried if it was a girl as it would be difficult for her at school etc but i'd deffinitely not worry about it at this age!

meandjoe I literally PML re: bone marrow - more haste less speed my mum would say !!

Regarding mono-brow, thank your lucky stars he's a boy !! I know many lovely mono-browed, handsome men (including dh) Don't know so many pretty mono-browed women - that would def be a wax job by the time she's 13 I think

marshabourbon · 06/01/2009 16:44

I've been thinking about this - dd hasn't excactly got a full on mono, but is def hairier inbetween, her dad has one! I'm crossing that nose bridge if it comes to it! Seeing what develops as she's only 16 mo and be guided by her if needed. want her to love herself for who she is, but also don't want her subjected to possible taunting.
