Maybe it's a wrong section but I think it,s the most read and I am mhoping for quick response.
Two days ago i sat my dd,6mo,on the baby rocker, did not fasten her stright away and went to the kitchen for three seconds literally!!!she somehow managed to lean forward so unfortunately that she fell off it.I don't think she's done any harm to herself even though the floor is wooden she looked a bit shocked and kind of surprised, didn't cry much but from then on i feel guilty I can't stop thinking about it!!!I need reassurance. Please tell me i am being a bit silly here

she'll be fine. just remmeber to do the strap up next time lol

babies are fairly bouncy

Aww don't worry. There is not a Mum in the land who hasn't done anything similar.

DS aged 2 weeks...I fell asleep bf and he rolled onto floorboards, still asleep!!

DS aged 2 fell off bench onto concrete floor...big egg...no harm done

dd aged 16 months...fell off sofa,cut lip,screams,was OK.

Don't worry they are pretty resilient

Don't worry about it - mine have fallen down the stairs and last year ds3 fell over in his back carrier and got two black eyes - oh the guilt!

When dd1 was about 3 months old I was about to strap her into her swinging chair when my phone rang which was on the floor next to me. I stopped to answer the phone. She was on the floor screaming by the time I said hello.

She is 5 now and I don't think she is damaged in any way. Can falling cause a child to devlop banshee like tendancies and a major obsession with dancing?

nooonit · 30/12/2008 23:05

We've all done things like this and our LOs have lived to tell the tale!
It'll be rolling off your bed next so watch out!

callmemamma · 30/12/2008 23:06

Thanks girls!!I only wanted to hear that before i go to sleep!Forgive first time mum for worrying too muchI never told dh about this accident though...It only proves that you have to watch them constantly(and do the strap every single time)...

Yep DD rolled off my lap when she was a month old. She got a fright but calmed down really quickly and was fine. I was a mess tho!

Have posted on your other thread my most embarrassing incident but the just yesterday I came out of the shower to hear dd2 screaming her head off. DS (3.10) comes into bathroom and says nonchalantly, 'we made a train of cushions and put dd2 on it but she just fell off'...I went and rescued her from underneath the coffee table (she's 8mths)

meandjoe · 31/12/2008 08:10

ooo poor baby! she'll be fine, she'll have forgotten about it a long time before you do though! they are remarkably bouncy. my ds fell off the sofa arm, head first aged 14 months, he had a bruise for a couple of days but is fine! he also pulled the high chair on top of himself last week, i was far more panicked than he was, babies seem to forget things easiely so don't feel bad!

littleboyblue · 31/12/2008 08:16

I don't think there is a mum in the world that hasn't done something similar. In ds's first month I knocked over the pushchair in sainsburys whilst he was in it, cut off the circulation to his feet whilst changing a nappy and dropped him while in his moses basket. We're always left in a much worse state than they are.
All of that was just in the first 4 weeks, I've lost count now how many times he';s fallen off something when I haven't been looking.
Don't worry
