Changing bedtime feed from BF to FF - yes or now for 14 wk old DD?

My DD is 14wks, taking AN AGE to feed at 6/30/7ish - about an hour before settling which can take another 15-30 min. I don't really enjoy doing this and find it frustrating that she can go through sleepy and awake periods thru this feed so never sure how effective it is allowing the full hour (ie whether she'd get just as much if I took her off earlier)... Thinking about doing a bottle at this time instead, but that means I won't breastfeed from about 5pm to her feed at about 3 am - bad idea? Am a bit concerned with supply atm as I've skipped the odd feed and done FFs instead over the xmas period - to go shopping, to have the odd glass or two of wine, to cook etc.

Any thoughts?

i had a similar prob with both mine at this age. if you are committed to bfeeding i wouldnt recommend giving this feed up as you are likely to find your supply is hard to keep up. keep this feed up for as long as you can. it is hard work though. i did it for 13 months every single night for both dds and it was very very hard indeed. but really worth it and looking back i am so pleased i didnt give up. but you have to think it is worth it and be able to go with it. it is so so so so hard. i sympathise fully.

This was the first breastfeed I gave up when DD was about 14 weeks. I continued to mixed feed her until she was 6 months, she had breastfeeds at all other times except bedtime feed. It didn't affect my supply and I didn't have a fantastic supply in the first place. However, this is just what worked for us so you could be different.

Why don't you give it another week to make sure your supply is as 'recovered' as possible from the xmas period, and then introduce a bottle? At least you'll have given yourself another week, and either things might have changed, or you'll avoid compromising your supply as much as possible?

maybe could try taking her off earlier first?
