Would this bother you?

DS is 15months and goes to nursery 4 afternoons a week. He started at 10 months and was initially very distraught when we left him. He now goes in very happily. Until recently when I collected him he would rush over to greet me and wanted cuddles. In the last month when I have gone to pick him up he is uninterested and just wants to carry on playing. In some respects I'm happy that he is comfortable there and wants to play but I'm also a bit worried that he doesn't want to be with me when I turn up. What would you suggest?

He's fine, just being a child (fickle). Don't let it bother you. He loves you he's just happy playing etc.

It would bother me (it has, have been in that situation). However you have to just tell yourself that it's better this way, as it means your child has really engaged with the environment there. Spending a bit of alone time together later on or at other times should help ease any niggles you have about his bond with you.

i had the same with my boy once they are settled and happy they dont want to come home, iv even had to buddle him under my arm kicking and screaming. after working in a nursery for 9years beleave me its much better to have it that way rather than turning up and your child is bright red from crying allday thats not good!
