for the past 3 night my 4yo has said there was a "blue lady" in her room...
she refuses to sleep in her room and has since been avoiding going in there at all..
we have tried having the lights on at night and telling her it is ok.. she still says that "she" is there...
has anyone else had similar things with thier kids? how can i assure her that things are ok?

Things might not be ok.

My 4yr old son suddenly woke up screaming one night. I went in his room and he said he was "scared of that man."

I thought he was having a bad dream and took him back in with me. The next day he wouldn't go in his room at all. I went in and it was really cold, although the radiator was on full blast. I put some chocolate on his bed and said he could have it - he still wouldn't go in. He fell asleep on the sofa in the evening and I put him into his bed.

In the night, same thing again, he work up screaming about the scary man. When I asked him where the man was, he pointed in the corner. He kept putting his hands over his eyes because he was too scared to look.

It was horrible and I had a really bad feeling in the room.
Packed up kids and left the house to stay with a friend.

My friend said she knew someone who could help. She found the number, rang the man, but didn't give many details, just my address. He came round the following day, stood on the doorstep for a few minutes quietly, then went straight into my son's room (without me telling him which room was which)
He came out and shut the door, telling me that it was ok now, there was a horrible thing in there but it was now gone. He asked me to put my son on the sofa, he put his hands on my son's head and he fell asleep. The man told me that when he woke up he would remember nothing.
My son woke up, and went straight in this room and started to play. No problems since. The man didn't charge by the way, his help was free.

This sounds ridiculous now I have typed it all out. But it happened and it was really scary. I believe children can see things we can't.

I was reading this downstairs on my own late last night and had to go straight up to bed as I was scared witless!

When DD was a tiny baby she used to stare intently at something in the top corner of her bedroom, above the door, then laugh her head off! Obviously not so unpleasant but still quite freaky, especially during the middle of night feeds.

There is another thread on here somewhere about someone's DD having nightmares about a blue monster eating her feet. When mum sat in the childs room with the lights low, she realised her dressing gown that was hanging on the back of the door was casting a scary shadow and once she removed it, the little girl was fine. I also had to do this about a year ago when my DD was 3, although she actually knew she was freaked out by dressing gown, and used to make me move it before I settled her down of an evening.

Hope you get it sorted anyway.

My 3 year old says there is a monster in his room.
I put the hall light on and that makes him feel better.
I've got him a glow bear that lights up like a night light fopr xmas!

Lots of kids say things like this, you dont necessarily have an actual ghost
