separation anxiety

DD is 9 months and generally quite chilled out. She's had a cold on and off for a couple of weeks and is now much better.

I've noticed in the past few days that sometimes, not always, when I leave the room to get a glass of water or whatever she starts to cry (she's not mobile). Other times she is fine and will happily play with her toys.

She's just been napping and I could hear her awake babbling to her teddies, not upset.

Does this sound like the start of separation anxiety? She's been fine when she is with DP and I am not around. Or could this be related to having a cold and being clingy?

Maybe a little of both! DD gets incredibly clingy/whingey when she has a cold or is teething but is quite happy to sit and play while i'm out of the room prepping her milk/getting a drink etc. I wouldn't worry about it. it might also depend on what mood she's in that day!

Sep. anxiety is supposed to start at 8 months, so it's a possibility. But so's a cold!

Either way, it's great for all of you that she's fine with your DP.
