ds is an only child so I don't have any sort of comparison. I'd just like to know if he behaves the same if this is OK.

He likes computer games
Can talk the hind legs off a donkey
Just becoming shy (baths alone now, won't change infront of me/with me in the same room)
Talks alot at school
Will draw at school when he has finished his work, mainly star wars pictures or characters from Runescape (the game he likes)-dragons, knights with swords etc
Likes to pretend to shoot things with pretend guns/blow things up with rockets
Will help others that have fallen over
Can be a bit silly when excited
Will gloat if wins a point in PE(won't do this again though).

I'm not concerned by the way, I would like to know if the shooting thing is normal for this age group and when do they grow out of it?

Thanks.

I have a 7.5 year old and they sound scarily similar.

My dad is 62 and still does the shooting thing. My mum says that she is still waiting for him to grow up.

Thanks for that!

I work with 8-9 year olds and that more or less describes them.
Not so much the helping others that have fallen over.
They still get changed for PE in front of adults but of course thats not the same as bath time!

DS2 is 9.
He loves the computer/psp
Wouldn't say he talks all that much.
He is a cheeky little so and so and winds his younger sisters up constantly! Knows exactly which buttons to press to annoy them!
On the other hand if they fall or need him to help he will rush over. Like today when DD2 couldn't quite step up a high step and i had my hands full.
He likes to read
Doesn't play guns/shoot at things.
He can be short tempered and hits out at his older bother.

sounds prety much like my DS (9 next month). He gloats about everthing, and rubbishes anything about the infant school (where his sister is) now he is a junior. He doesn't shoot particularly, but some of his mates do.

Sounds normal to me

Oh and he is definatly not shy about his bits! Thinks it is really funny to flash at us! Sending DD's sqealing eww a willy!

Thanks.

ds has been on a 'sticker chart' at school for a couple of weeks. It's mixed between drawing in class after finishing his work to gloating when winning a tennis game. I personally think there are worse things he could be doing. I'm pleased that other boys the same age do all this too. Maybe they are expecting too much!

Thanks again.
