aren't you too old for tantrums now?

PiccadillyCircus · 17/03/2005 12:56

My ds threw up over the kitchen floor on Tuesday night and took great delight in smearing it all over his hands and feet.

DS2 had a whinge-fest pretty much from dawn til dusk yesterday.

SoupDragon · 17/03/2005 13:07

"I reallt love him again now" The give away with this statement is "he is asleep on sofa"

I always love DS2 when he's asleep. Sigh.

MissCheef · 17/03/2005 13:09

so true

pinotgrigio · 17/03/2005 13:11

We had a tantrum this morning - codename 'archiegate'. Archie is DD's word for Balamory. As she got me up at 5am 'Bounce Bounce up mum-mum. Archeee' I explained that we could get up but would only be watching mummy tv (sky news) as it was still sleepy-time.

She spent 2 hours wailing, putting the DVDs in, handing me the tv-on-demand (don't ask) remote control, changing tv channels from sky to DVD, flailing, demanding dummy, blankie, tears etc.

I handed over to nanny 3 hours later and as I left for work my last view of her was being placed firmly on the naughty stair for some tantrum-related crime involving cat food.

Did you ignore it?
My DS has had tantrums lasting 5 hours or more before but that is part of his ASD

Mud · 18/03/2005 18:01

5 hours

bensmum3 · 18/03/2005 19:27

Oh no, I think ds had his second ever, yesterday, over a toy at toddlers, he couldn't have because it was home time, he screamed, sobbed, crawled under the table, kicked and screamed some more, possibly not the longest, but I will watch this thread with interest to know what more delights we're in for.It must be a self preservation thing I really can't remember dd and ds1 having tantrums.

Davros · 19/03/2005 18:25

Even for 5 hours the only thing to do is ignore it, esp as nothing we do makes any difference so you give up anyway. With DD, who has just turned 2, I find that ignoring it and redirecting works at the moment but I'm sure we're in for harder times!

jampots · 19/03/2005 18:27

gosh - poor mummies. Thank god never really suffered from them

WideWebWitch · 19/03/2005 19:04

1 hour Cod, that's nothing you lightweight! Blimey, my boy has been known to keep going for more than 2 hours and my girl can puke OR bloody her own nose on demand to let me know quite how pissed off she is I love them again the minute they're asleep.
