Help! Any tips for sleep probs/early waking in 1 yr old

Hi, DD is 15 months and until she was 10 months was a good sleeper. She then went through a stage of being awake for a couple of hours crying each night, which did seem to settle once her molars came in. Now we have had weeks of her waking at 5am and not going back to sleep - if we leave her to cry she becomes hysterical and is sometimes sick, and our neighbours next door have complained about the noise so we now feel we have no option but to take her into bed with us where she doesn't sleep, but rolls around for a while! I'd be sooo grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.

Oh dear, this is so hard! My youngest DS (8 now) is still an early riser. I tried keeping him up later, feeding him before sleep (in case he was waking hungry), toys & light up things around his cot, drink & biscuit within reach for when he woke up, anything to get a few extra mins. After getting up at 5am for a couple of years, I taught him to tell the time & keep quiet until 6am - he still has a clock at the end of his bed & isn't allowed to get up until 6am. Now he plays by himself for an hour or so until everyone else gets up - he has had to learn that other people need a bit more sleep than he does! If there are 2 of you, could you take it in turns to get up with her? It might be worth cutting out the afternoon nap if she still has one, hard work for a few days keeping her awake but she might sleep longer at night. But generally I reckon it's a body clock thing & really difficult to change.Good luck!

this sounds like a real struggle, i sympathise completely, mine is 3 now and at playschool so he is so tired that he sleeps till 7:30 now. but that wasn't always the case!
if you have a look on babysleepshop.com there is something called bunny clock you can set bed time and getting up time and it changes colour to let baby kmow if it is time to get up or time to go to sleep, it takes about a month for them to realise but then it works a treat.
hope this helps. xxx
