Hi, my dd is still teething and after about a month and half the tooth is still fighting to come through. She was very miserable yesterday and didnt sleep well last night so hopefully it will be through soon.

I have been using Calgel and Calpol if she is very miserable but wondered about the granules you can get. Are they better then Calgel etc?

Also, does anyone use Bickipegs? Can you use these at any age? Thanks.

how old is she?

I started using bickipegs for my daughter (8months) when my mum gave them 2 her, think she was bout 6 months, maybe even 5.5months.
They were great ,the teeth came straight through, no pain and no fuss

She is 5 months. Bought some Bickipegs but it says not until 6 months. I may give them a go though. Thanks.

ooh i didnt have any joy with calgel at all to be honest a mix of ashton and parsons herbal powder and bonjela cool was fantastic also baby neurofen hit pain better than calpol did for teething

i used to freeze end of flannel and rub on gums also used to help numb the pain and toughen gums up

BabyTalk13 · 17/11/2008 19:06

what is bickipegs?
where do you get them?

LaTrucha · 17/11/2008 20:53

Nelson's Teetha powders are pretty good for an ordinary teething day - by which I mean when thet teeth are grumbling away but not actually thrusting through.

Some people swear by Ashton and Parsons powder but they did not wok for us.

Teetha is not put in withthe baby medecine in our Boots. It's with the other herbal remedies.

Bickiepegs are a hard biscuit (they do not dissove nor are they chewable) that you tie to the baby's clothes and they chew away on. DD didn't like them much.

We find anbesol is good - the gel remedies seem hard to get to stay put where you need them

lauraloola · 17/11/2008 21:50

Bought some Ashton and Parsons today but it made dd cry!

Also got some Bickipegs but it says not until 6 months. She is 5mo - Would she be ok? Obviously I will have her on my lap and hold it for her.

My kitchen cupboard could be mistaken for the childrens health section in Boots at the moment

I think the 6 month thing with bickipegs is because they contain gluten - not 100% sure though so perhaps best to check the ingredients list

Thanks, I will have a look.
