alterego don?t know about the others but for me it?s about the buggy being a pain (getting it into the car/through doorways etc) and also letting the kids be grown up and independent, one step along the way at least. trying to stop dd sucking her thumb for the same reason.
In answer to your questions, I rarely take all 3 children on any kind of big shopping trip (might pop into Mand S on the way back from Saturday morning swim). as for fallign asleep in the buggy, don?t really want to encourage that beyond age of 2 anyway. All of mine have dropped their daytime nap by then. If I let dd fall asleep in the day (unless she?s ill) she won?t sleep at night.
Your ds sounds like a great walker!

I was in no hurry to ditch the pushchair - DD just objects to going into it and would obviously prefer to walk. I'm taking my cue from her.

We don't go to shopping centres much - I've become an internet shopping junkie. We are going on holiday to Yorkshire in a few weeks' time. I expect we'll just try to persuade her into the pushchair to go around York and Whitby.

Yep, I wake her up. I loathe the wretched bumpy bulky thing and I love walking along talking to my daughter/s.
