Do you have a child who forms attachments to odd objects? DS ignores teddy bears and the like but loves to go to bed with...

A square glass cufflink ('the bumpy wheel, mummy!')

A bicycle pump

A car scraper (you know, for getting ice off windows)

A small plastic bat from a cheepo bat and ball set

and various other uncuddly objects. Just one at a time, but they are just so uncuddly.

Is he very odd, or is this a pretty normal preference in small boys (he's 2.8 btw).

DS1 once took the PIL's poker to bed every night for an entire week when we were staying with them.

Heh. :-)Nailpolish my DD also really likes her bicycle helmet!

I bought a plastic human anatomy doll from tesco with a view to it being Educationally Useful when DD was older. She spotted it on a high shelf when being carried about and pointed and said 'oooh' until we got it down.

She took all the removable organs out one by one, licked them individually and put them on the ground! Then gave 'Mr Anatomy' a cuddle and carried him round for the rest of the day. She's 14 months.

Our own little Hannibal Lecter.. 'a health visitor once tried to weigh me.....'

DD1 loved the dental examination mirror.

read this and though i'd typed something already,
ds2(2 yrs) has also gone to sleep tonight holding a little dental mirror and his brothers starwars album. he has a thing for anything not his, and anything he thinks that he can swipe out of the dishwasher without me seeing him, the pastry brush being a fave.

pmsl at boney

one of mine does this too, bed full of odd things, all sorts stuffed under the pillow and cries at night when some little tiny linking chain falls out of the bed

Dd (4) has 5 bears and her shoes tonight! Also has to wear (clean!) clothes, not pj's in bed!

Summer before DD1 took to bed a big stone she'd brought back from Cornwall. Apparently, it was like Makka Pakka's.

thisisyesterday I love your son's name! He is lovely! I like it for DC2.... but DH is a coder and is worried people would just think Torvalds.
