My lovely DD - Normally a little shy but very placid happy child very easy going rarely moaning or demanding has been the opposite this last week. She has been ill with a virus since week before last but since thursday she won't get down from me to play & i cannot do anything without her on me. She normally loves playing with her brother but won't anymore & even he keeps asking her to come & play with him. I's only been 5 days i can hear you saying but the difference in her is so drastic it's like having a newborn again & i don't know the best way to handle it. She was well enough to be herself again from Saturday but hysterical if i try to put her down. Any advise? Will it pass if i keep comforting her or should i play the hard line & let her cry herself sick (which she will) until she gets the message?

no she needs comfort my ds does this whenever he hasd been ill and will take good fe3w weeks to get back to normal

when i feel rough i want comfort and loving and will be no different for the litrtleones who just want to cuddle with mummy it will pass

just give her cuddle encourage her to play but if she doesnt want to lay her on sofa next to you with a blanket and read her a story and then go and do what you have to do

but its not unusual for them to become clingy as i say my ds does it whenever been really ill or feeling really rough he soon snaps out of it when feeling better

oh bless I have found my dd to be the same after she has been ill and becomes very clingy and emotional for a couple of weeks afterwards. It is really draining so appreciate why you are struggling but it will pass I am sure. She may still be feeling ill so if no better in a couple of days it might be worth taking her back to gp to make sure nothing else is going on XxX
