ok dd is almost 8 months and when she started crying whilst having lunch noticed her tooth coming through, and only cause her mouth was open so big!!!!

Whats the best way to 'treat' as she was upset, and doesn't normaly cry, gace some calpol and gel. She was biting on a toy so plently of chewable items around any other advice?????

Just be soothing and offer cuddles- there's a lot more to come. Also chill a teething ring and get some Ashton and Parsons powders

i would use nurofen over calpol treats pain better especially for night time

give plenty of things to chew sliced carrot etc to help toughen the gums

normally after the first the rest pop through one after the ohter so expect maybe a grizzly baby for short while

my ds went off solid food when first started teething so maybe make food slightly softer so more gentle on gums give bonjela 10 mins before food to ease gums

i used to freeze corner of flannel and put on ds gums before feeds to help ease pain and helps toughen gums ready for more teeth to enter but stopped when had too many teeth as it was too pasinful lol

Ashton and Parsons are herbal medicinal powders you buy in Boots which, if nothing else, distract DD long enough from her teething pain to allow me to cuddle her to sleep

To be honest, I think it's more painful just before they come through. So if it's actually cut the gum, you're on the home straight, until the next one arrives.

DD1 used her brand new bottom teeth to bite through the gum and expose her top teeth. now that was gory!

On the other hand I didn't know DD2 had grown her last four teeth until our childminder commented on how nice it was to see that she had the whole set
