ds is a whacker and is a stroppy wotsit but today he was so imaginative. we played with some animal puppets but he decided that the duck was Noddy, the crab was Sly and the chicken was Gobbo. A horse became Noddy's car and a game was born that lasted ages.
tell me what lovely thing your 'orrible dc has done today

That's lovely Slarty

dd3 (2.6 and the epitome of a stroppy, difficult two year old who drives me mental on a frequent basis) opened the fridge last week and said "ooh 2 cartons of orange juice! Lucky us!"

Last Wednesday DD (nearly 4), Grandma, Grandad and Nanny went out for the day. I was supposed to be at work but stayed at home as I was ill.

When they got back DD came upstairs with a bunch of lovely roses for me 'to cheer me up cos I'm poorly'

My mum told me later that it was all DD's idea and that she had insisted on pink roses because that's what poorly mummys need.

DS 2 1/2 is really not getting the hang of this sharing thing at all and it is the only time him and dd come to blows. Wee last night at bedtime the were sitting having supper before bed and dd had finished her juice, ds asked for her cup and poured some of his own into it and gave her the cup back ok most of it went all over the floor but I was just so touched that he had done that I never complained about cleaning it up.

DD (5) is also THE most loving big sister she always hugs and kisses her brother and she often pulls him to sit on her knee while they are watching telly before dinner. They have started getting out of their ow beds at night and taking over mine because they want to sleep together I have some gorgeous pictures of them cuddled up together in my bed.

As DSS was in the bath no 4 in a queue of 5 of us to use the water) I told him to not be long as the water would be cold for DS turn.

Obviously this encouraged DSS to take even longer than usual !! When DS eventually got his turn he launched straight in as usual (oblivious to the temperature of the water that might await him) and then shouted "thanks DSB it's still a bit warm" !!

Such a grateful little chap !

This is an old one but still makes me [weeping ball of sludgyness emoticon].
My DS1 went on a rugby tour to Ireland last year aged 14.

When he came back he had bought me some perfume called Innesfree which he had ( according to his teacher) spent most of the free day tracking down.

It is named after my fathers favorite poem one line of which was put on his gravestone
when we buried him the year before.

It never would have occuredto me that he would have remmbered the poem let alone made the connection for a gift for me

Pagwatch - what a wonderful boy you have

Greensleeves · 10/11/2008 21:23

My very challenging and infuriating AS ds1 saw a new child at school looking lost and sad, so he held hands with him in the playground all lunchtime, and then in 'choosing time' that afternoon he drew him a map of the school, fully labelled, with his name on it, and a key of symbols [sometimes I just LOVE AS ], and gave it to his mother at hometime

Greensleeves · 10/11/2008 21:24

Pagwatch that is amazing, your boy is a real gem

Troutpout · 10/11/2008 21:35

7yo DS sat down at the table on Sunday and said "ooh I love this meal, it's got everything I like in it".

I was a bit because the meal was kale and chorizo hash. But I had used a red onion instead of white which met with his approval.

Have to add he wasn't strictly accurate as he eats most things and does not subsist on red onion, kale, chorizo and potatoes.
