The clocks changing has ruined my sleep!

My ds has always been a good sleeper. I have no complaints of a night and he pretty much goes to bed without any battles of an evening.

We work full time, I'm a childminder and work 50 hours a week. Since the clocks went back, my son has started waking up at 5am! It's a long day, especially when he doesn't have a lunchtime nap. Doesn't seem to matter what time I put him to sleep, it could be anytime between 6 & 8pm and he still wakes up at 5am!

I've been through this before when my ds was much younger. He is 3 yrs old now.

It's so hard when they get you up in darkness!! This is more of a rant than a cry for help. I know this is such a common problem.. It's really not helping the bags under my eyes!

yes this is happening here too. I tried not to let DS get up so early but he was making so much noise between 5:30 and 6. We got up at 6:15 and now he has crashed out!

You could try a nightlight on a timer and a pile of books or 'quiet' toys and he's not allowed to come out of his room til his nightlight comes on. Start with it at 5.15 for a few days then add 15 mins on as it starts to work. You need to persist with it, at 3 it might not work straight away

I (sort of) know how you feel, since dd gave up her dummy and started nursery she has given up daytime naps and is waking about 6 (used to be 7) but she was doing this before clocks changed, she is also nearly dry at night so we're having to wait up to take her to the loo before we sleep and then she shouts us in the night too. We have brought her a light up princess clock to try and encourage her to stay in bed a little bit longer, dp says he went in this morning and she was sat in her bed holding the clock waiting for the light to go off so she could get up so it's working a bit.

I'm also a childminder working long hours and this week i've had 7 children, im so tired, thank god mil is having our dd's sat night so we can have a lie in on sunday!

Oh yes, I'm with you on this one. DD is 2 but in the past I have got her used to clocks changing over a few weels, changing her bed time etc by 10 minutes every few days. This time, I couldn't be bothered and now wish I had! The problem is, she wakes with a huge poo in her nappy, so I can't leave her to stay playing in the quiet, as sometimes it's so big, she can't sit down, she'd just wobble on it like a Weeble! (Is that too much information?
