No worries here just curious after browsing through various threads here on similar subjects.

My dd is a very chatty 2.5 year old and always wants to play little 'role playing' games with her toys - Noddy, Big Ears, some tiny bears etc. which involve fairly simple little scenarious about sharing, accidents, illnesses, cuddles. And of course she loves having stories. I can't really get her interested in anything like doing puzzles, building, drawing and painting. I'd really like to do some of those latter things with her as the role playing stuff can get a bit wearying sometimes especially when Noddy has 'broken his leg' for the 40th time in an hour! As she's an only child she relies on me to act out these games. I don't mind as I love playing with her but I would also enjoy doing some slightly more low-key play.

So what kinds of things do your kids do?

mp, my dd has no interest in dolls. Her little figures are Noddy, Big Ears, and basically any tiny toy that's under 2 inches tall. She's very into miniature things.

It's good to get these posts because it reminds me that dd also likes doing things I forgot to mention. Like your dd Hulababy, mine is also into singing and dancing and relating stories from her books (doesn't have many vids / dvds yet, I'm putting it off until she insists!) She also loves 'helping' and is thoroughly offended if I don't let her load the washing machine etc. I've never tried games like Snakes and Ladders, I think I'll have to have a look around for some things.

When I get the paints out for dd we spend about 2 mins putting some on paper, then an hour using the brushes for seesaws and / or rocket ships for Noddy!

My DD's (2.4) favourite things are her kitchen, pop up house, doll (cot, buggy), painting (I'm still hyperventilating about the last time) and Bing Bunny books.

She loves making playdoh food and preparing food for us in the kitchen, filling the sink with water and the pans with dried pasta.

She also loves the ELC pop in the post game.

I think I'm going to invest in one of the happy land play sets too, see if she'll get into that.

dd is 2.5yrs and atm loves riding around the house on her bike- can use the pedals properly now - or playing outside on the deck on her trampoline.

She had a wooden train set for xmas and will play happily with it, so long as i a playing too, but not so much on her own.

She has about 3 million dolls (mostly stolen from her Auntie who is 10) and will play taking all their clothes off / bathing them / putting them in highchair and feeding them - that sort of thing, but mostly she loves being out of the house doing things.

Oh, for a bit of quiet play her most fave thing atm is those cards with pictures on and holes, which you thread the laces through - cant remember the name - from elc.

Soz about appaling punctuation and grammar - holding ds in other hand!
