Sofa bouncers of the world, unite.....

Dammit I should be working but instead I'm going to post this.

DH and I always bounced on the sofa as kids and allow our children to do so also. The sofa was new from Multiyork but the pleasure we've all derived from it has been well worth any (non-detectable) weakening of the springs.

Are there any other secret or "out" sofa bouncing families out there or will everyone think I'm a bad mother for this? I've noticed that avoiding sofa bouncing is given as an example of behaviour to be stamped out of them in several child behaviour books ("you may bounce on your trampoline, but not on our new sofa").

We now climb the arm of the armchair, arrange the cushions on the sofa, then practice our diving and other Olympic sports [dammit, document has now printed out, must do work]

LOL at BroccoliSpears attempt to be a firm disciplinarian.

No sofa bouncing in our house (no sofa) but bed bouncing absolutely encouraged. Also jumping onto mattresses from a great height (from teetering on window frames, from tops of step ladders, from tops of door frames, that sort of thing). How is this country going to get our Olympic medals for synchronised diving if we don't get our children jumping young, hmmm? See, I regard it as my patriotic duty to encourage such behaviour.

Hurrah for sofa bouncing! Our sofa is from the 1960's and has survived two generations of bouncers.
Although yesterday ds was so excited about having done a wee in the potty that he bounced off the sofa head butted the potty that I was holding sent wee everywhere and landed in a crumpled heap on the floor.

OH im such a horrible mummy then! Our sofa is not a year old yet and i suspect my clummsy children if permitted would bounce of on there heads, loose their teeth resulting in long trip to a and e and would probably break it anyway and its not insured. 'stop jumping on the furniture it is not a trampoline' - hmm said at least once a day . We have a bouncy castle they can jump on if they need to bounce and the beds are to high to permit it and the ceilings are to weak in these new builds so i have no doubt they would also fall thrugh the ceiling.
