How can I stop ds taking his arms out of the straps in his car seat? I'm sure I've seen some kind of strap that will join the straps together to stop him doing this but can't find one anywhere. Can anyone help? Thanks. Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I didn't know where else to post.

do you have it tightened up enough if he can take his arms out?

I had the same problem with DD, no matter how tight we did the straps she would actually hurt herself pulling until she released them.

We got given a strap which joins the other two together, just above the original clip, to make it harder for her, but she still kept doing it even then.

Not much help really, we bought DD a new toy for the back of the passenger seat and eventually that distracted her enough to forget about playing with the straps.

I would suggest the houdini stop

www.houdinistop.co.uk

It has been crash tested as well as approved by the ACRI as safe.

It clips on dead easy, you can do it with one hand

It doesnt move up or down without any real force

Our youngest was always pulling his arms out but this totally did the trick.

I read a lot about these sorts of things being illegal and dangerous as it takes the emergency services longer to get them out in an accident. The way i see it, if you have a crash and your child has their arms out of their straps they are going to be in great danger before it gets to the point of the emergency services trying to get them out of the car. And at the end of the day the strap can be cut int he middle if needs be.

As for it being illegal I have done my fair share of research and can confirm that EU legislation states you cant SELL a car seat with this type of thing on it, but there is no law against buying one, or attaching one yourself.

We feel much happier and more comfortable driving now knowing the he is fastened in securely and not with his arms out all over the place.
