What age is too old for a Happy Meal?

My boys don't actually like McDs, so we don't go there. (We eat other junk food instead.)

ds1 went to a party today, and fortunately I had warned him to be polite, even though he doesn't like the food. But he was particularly surprised that they were given Happy Meals, given their age.

I'm 32 and have Happy Meals

lol at veins running with fat and manky carrots. I think most people know about Mcdonalds.

Did you see Coalface this evening?

I also want to know what a serve-you-right is.

Just because a child can eat all that food doesn't mean they should!

I have a happy meal if and when I go to macdonalds.

tis the only meal that is dairy free, and it is enough food-wise too for me!

KTNoo · 03/08/2008 22:21

The other day a girl came over and asked if ds wanted the toy from her happy meal. I said thanks and asked her if she was sure she didn't want it. She looked horrified and replied "I am twelve!" Aww, sweet. I suppose she got the happy meal because it was cheaper.

Do the MN food police have a subsidised staff canteen?

Well I win, cos I'm 46 and will occasionally have a happy meal.

Haven't had any reason to take the ds's there though, they are 3 and 2 so haven't heard of pester power yet.

seeker · 03/08/2008 23:13

My mum had one at 83!

My dd likes the Chicken Caesar Salad, which apparantly has more calories in it than a burger and chips!

SueW · 03/08/2008 23:34

I have a cheeseburger Happy Meal if I go to McDonald's. ISTR it's 9 WW points for that, if you have water with it, so entirely reasonable as a meal for someone who has 22 points a day. (I think WW min daily points is 18, exc saving for special occasions, so still not bad)

serenity · 03/08/2008 23:40

Ds1 (10) hasn't had a happy meal for a while, DS2 (8) has a happy meal plus an extra cheeseburger, but I know a few older kids who are content with a Happy meal still - individual preference I suppose.

Oh and I was going to do a fairly amusing, but highly sarcastic response to Ourhamsterisevils post, then I decided I couldn't be arsed and it wasn't really worth the energy.

pointydog · 03/08/2008 23:54

There is no age limit. Dd1 is nearly 12 and has happy meals.

A light lunch, a little toy to fiddle with - just enough for anyone

On the rare occasion I have a Maccy dees I have them.

branflake81 · 04/08/2008 12:11

I never really go to McD. Last time I did I asked for small burger and small fries and it automatically came in the happy meal box with the toy and everything. Seemed a bit OTT.

TopBitch · 04/08/2008 15:55

DD (aged 12) loves them. I eat them as well, I'm not that hungry usually and can't eat a huge meal.

mumeeee · 04/08/2008 21:54

11 is not to old for a happy meal DD3 still loved them at that age.DD2 is 18 and still sometimes buys Happy Meals when she is in town with her friends.
