DS will be 18 mos. on Valentine's day & is still crawling. He can pull himself up but doesn't want to even try to walk. Also, I've noticed that he doesn't kiss me or hug me , nor anyone else. Should I be more worried than I already am? BTW, DD walked late but kissed & cuddled early!

Glad you're getting him checked out. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with him, but best to be on the safe side. It makes me when well meaning people give advice such as "all in good time" or "he'll do it eventually". That's part of the reason I didn't take my eldest daughter to the docs when she was late with all her milestones. It wasn't until she was 15 months old and wasn't pulling up to standing that at a routine check up her doctor recommended we take her to a pediatric neurologist. Turns out she has hypotonia (low muscle tone), which isn't a big deal, and she is fine now at age 5 except that her coordination and balance aren't very good, but we know why and we know how to deal with it. She walked at 22 months, by the way.

"Carrying him for fun" -- LOL . Little brute weighs over 10kgs. He's extremely strong-willed, too, which makes me think that he's not walking because he doesn't see the need to!

We're having Aillidh checked out the 17th. She is pulling up (she's 20 months next week) and cruising (she even climbs on couches and chairs), but she is unable to stand on her own or walk.

Glad to hear your wee smasher is well, sansouci!

Not so sure, expat. My dd also cruises & climbs on the sofa (dh last night: "how did he get up there?" doh!) but maybe he just can't support his full body weight... [worried emoticon]

DS started cruising at 11m (no crawling), then one day when we tought he was going to start walking he discovered the crawling was easier and forgot about cruising and just crawled for several months. However, he was 15-16 m at the time, I would speak to the HV or the GP.
