dd2 can currently undo her high chair straps and climb into standing postion where she likes to 'bounce' holding onto the back of the highchair. she can very easily get out of her pushalong car. atm she is eating her lunch in her hop and pop toy as i got sick of her escaping her high chair!!!

she can escape the straps on her buggy and also likes to stand and bounce in there. if i have put her in there so that she is safe while im washing up etc she wil stand in it and lean untill it tips over and she can get onto the floor!!!

her hop and pop is all she cannot currently escape from, though she is very close!! what should i try next? im fairly sure tying her up isnt an option is it?

LOL my wee one can escape from tripp trapp chair, climb out buggy to a standing upright position in seconds.try short frequent meals and snacks so she gets bored less. But yes it is something to behold as the wriggle about

no pets, but feeds the DVD player

why dont you put down a dog bowl get her to place food in it (get her involved in a task)

in fact i we need help too

Could you put a coat or jumper on her over the straps of her buggy? Did tat a few times accidentaly and it was very tricky for me to undo!

If a tea-shirt over the straps of the high chair doesn't work. I guess the standing up in the highchair thing could be helped using the same approach as getting out of bed i.e. sit her back down each time she does it, no matter how many times you have to keep doing it!

And remember, it IS a phase

How about a play pen so she isn't so constricted but still not under your feet?

Or do the washing up on the floor with her. Yes, there'll be warm soapy water EVERYWHERE, but you just mop it up at the end and tick "clean kitchen floor" off your to-do list. Not so good if carpetted, obviously...

is it one with 5 point harness? could you under the shoulder straps and do them up so they cross over her front?
not sure how she escapes but that might slow her down a bit

micci25 · 07/07/2008 22:14

i could change her straps so that they cross over her chest on her high chair but wont work on her buggy!!

my kitchen is tiny far too small for a playpen. the only way i have thought of being able to be in the kitchen making lunch etc is to leave dd1 in charge of making sure that dd2 doesnt do anything she is not allowed and the living room is quite child friendly! the kitchen however is not so there is no way i could have her loose in there!!

i could try a playpen in the living room i suppose, i do have one that i got for dd1. ill have to get it down and see how dd2 takes to it!! she likes to chase the dog so i dont think she will be too impressed but its worth a try!!
