Do children "regress" slightly when they are nearly three?

My daughter is driving me slightly nuts.
She's gone from being a very independant little girl, to wanting people to do everything for her again - picking her up to carry her (when for about a year now she has refused to go in the pram), holding her juice cup for her, feeding her, lots of "no, you do it".
She's perfectly capable of doing everything for herself, is it just a phase she is going through?
I dont have any other children so it isn't like she has a new baby in the house that she is competing with...

off for tea, back in a bit!!

ooh my dd is like that at the moment tho is perfectly capable of doing everything and can be v independent esp when i dont want her to be lol but currently seems to want a lot of 'babying' eg i have to feed her with her fork or she wont eat. she has also started talking in a babyish voice. i dont remember my ds's doing it. maybe its a girl thing and hopefully just a weird stage. tis annoying tho isnt it? dd is 3.5 btw

dd will be three in oct and she is driving me round the bend.
she doesn't want to do anything unless I am doing it for her. And this includes sleep - if I'm not in the room next to her, she wont sleep. Am feeling a little drained!
