Toddler behaviour specialist?

Toddler is just over 2.5yrs

I’m aware, toddlers will be toddlers. But myself and my daughter are going through big Life transitions. I believe she is suffering a little / Perhaps confusion. Perhaps my lack of guiding her behaviour correctly being a first time Mum and trying to navigate a home move to a whole other new area. Dealing with a very lengthy and very stressful legal situation which has drained me. There are books out there I’ve got them sitting on the side. Butt time is not on my side as I have a workload, home move, Life admin, Legal daily paperwork and stress (family legal case dealing with), On top of being a first time solo parent.

She is not yet at nursery but will be later next month which her and I are both very much looking forward to.
She was meant to start nursery much before now, but we were in a long (yr long) Weights to move into a purchase property which fell through due to the vendors onward chain. So because of the unpredictability of when we would move during this period, having delays monthly of being told to wait before the vendors pulled out, I relied on two local ad hoc Nannie’s to help with childcare.

I know nursery will be the blessing we need after our move (into rental annoyingly, Butt found a great nursery).

But while we have a month or so before moving and her starting nursery, I’m seriously considering getting a professional in that specialises in toddler behaviour to come do a one/two / however many day type crash course with us. As I learn best being taught how to do things visually. And someone can witness the hurdles I have with my daughter at differing transitions of the day and help me correct them in the best appropriate successful way,
and guide daughter (and I) through them.

I have tried a few different techniques not had much luck. I know toddlers can be tricky and kids will do things with their main caregiver. They wouldn’t with others. But there’s an issue. Tantrums that can’t be reasoned with, hitting, biting. I’m out of my depth. And I want to get this right and help her navigate through it correctly without confusing her, because well, I’m out my depth and there’s no school of how to deal with and guide your toddler course. We literally us parents learn as we go.

But I’d rather at this stage get it right for the both of us, As it’s a crucial age for her and a crucial time, Like I said above, we’re going through quite a few few transitions. I’m up to my eyes in life and I need us both to get the correct guidance.

I know I could go through the Health Visitor or Nhs, but we are moving completely different areas. I don’t want to go on a waitlist. I want to tackle this before she goes to nursery. And while we have the time over the next month or so As she won’t start nursery until later next month after our move.

I did look last month online and found some obscure website of an independent specialist in different child behaviour or sleep issues etc. I didn’t and don’t need any guidance on sleep issues it’s more behaviour managing techniques.
That one self advertising specialist I found on google, or so they called themselves, I think wanted ridiculous money or more to come for a few days and without a recommendation I just thought I’d be throwing money away to be honest on someone that could be a one hit wonder type scenario. A bit like when you send a dog off for training, it can cost a whole load of money, And anyone can say they’re good at their job, And you could waste your money completely.

So I guess I’m looking for any recommendations of someone who is a legitimately a toddler behaviour type specialist that does this type of coming to stay for a short period to witness and guide me and my daughter through this behaviour obstacles so I can put the correct actions in place and not confuse my daughter. So an investment for both of us.

Thanks

I’m sorry I’m really not sure that I’ve come across anyone who offers a service like this.

I think if you’re looking for someone to help you with behaviour I’d be careful about checking out their qualifications. People like the Supernanny make great TV but she doesn’t have DC of her own and lots of her methods are not evidence based.

I’m also sorry that you’re going through so much, it sounds overwhelming. Are you getting any support from family or friends? Flowers
