Does having a sensitive toddler mean we shouldn’t go on a plane? ✈️

DS will turn 2 in a few months’ time.

While he used to be okay with things like swings and trains, once he turned about 15 months:

He didn’t like the fireworks last year
He gets upset going on swings and wants to get out
He got very upset going on trains and a miniature train. Really quite distressed.

Then there are some sensitivities that aren’t consistent:

Sometimes, he starts crying when it’s song time at playgroup - equally sometimes he’s fine, and/or if he does get upset then he can be easily soothed and will enjoy it.
Sometimes, he can be hesitant walking on new surfaces (grass/sand) etc. Equally, he loves sitting in the sandpit at nursery. Or he’ll happily walk on the surface if he’s distracted with a toy.
Sometimes, he gets upset getting in the bath. Equally, once he’s in there he loves splashing around and watching the water pour.

And sometimes he’s absolutely fine with music and songs, and noises that he previously wasn’t sure about - such as household appliances!

I would love to go abroad this summer but DH thinks it’s out of the question as he thinks DS will get very distressed going on a plane.

I wondered if anyone else had a similarly sensitive toddler and had any advice? There’s already so much we can’t do recreation-wise. Now we can’t go abroad either?
