Wondering if anyone else's DC have had this at all. I'm not toooo worried about it as it could be he's a bit constipated or just failing to drink enough during the day. Going to pop along to baby clinic on tuesday next week and ask HV about it anyway just to get it checked. In the mean time anyone any other ideas?
He doesn't seem bothered about it and isn't in any pain.
Thanks.

Mine often has this if he is a bit constipated. Has on occasion had it more obviously when unwell - i.e before a bout of the shits. But otherise I think its fairly normal, especially at the end of the day / after lots of food.

I don't know what it could be but I would get it checked.

Hi my youngest is also 14 months and has a distended tummy. He does actually have a medical problem that can cause him to become constipated but I asked his consultant about his stomach recently and she said it was really normal for this age group. HTH

What do you mean by distended tummy? I'm not sure I would recognise this.

Surely all toddler tummies stick out a bit or a lot? They are never flat unless you have a really unusually skinny toddler.

Isn't toddler tummies being very rounded a completely normal thing?

As he is only 14 months and therefore still in nappies, I think you'd know if he was constipated.

Or is this a recent change that is really noticeable?

it's ok i've been observing him the past few days and it isn't quite as bad, so he's obviously just had loads to eat when i've been noticing it.
i tend to notice things that really aren't needing to be noticed!!he's perfectly healthy.

thanks for all your help.
