My toddler is gulping a lot, should I be concerned?

Have noticed this past week that my toddler (3 and half) seems to be gulping a lot.

My Mum noticed it first last week when visiting, when playing with my DD, and then yesterday a friend commented on it.

She has been doing it a lot today, but maybe it's because I'm concious of it, that it seems like she's doing it more.

When I asked my DD if she was feeling ok, she said her throat hurt, but it doesn't look sore, nor are her glands up.

I'm not sure if it just one of those weird habits, and we should ignore it, or should I be concerned.

Has anyone else experienced this? If it a behaviour thing, are we best to ignore it or what?!

Could it be a nervous thing?

She doing it all the time. I did wonder if it was nerves at 1st but doesn't appear 2 be that.

I would suggest that you take her to the GP and get her checked out. It may be nothing but if she says her throat hurts and she's doing this unusual thing then I would get it checked.

My DS had a gulping thing a little while ago. Becuase he got attention for it, he kept doing it!
Then when he had a (genuine) cough, he liked the fuss the little old ladies made of him, so he now regularly claims he is sick/has a cough/ has lost his voice(!)/ needs medicine!!!
On the other hand, no harm in getting it checked by the doctor if you are worried...

Have been to see Gp who said that it likely to be a habit rather than a problem. As she still eating/drinking fine there should'nt be an underlying problem. He did say if it gets worst or still ongoing in 3 months then to bring her back.

Sounds like typical toddler behaviour! God bless 'em! Little buggers angels.
