He's not tiggering around

I just wanted to say that I am disappointed to have bought a door bouncer which I thought ds would love, and he doesn't!
All my friends at work show me little video clips of their kids jumping up and down like mad things and screaching and giggling. My ds does a half hearted bounce, goes round in circles till the rope is all twisted and then cries to get out.
I am so dissapointed I thought that he'd love it. Just wanted to see him laugh. Only his dad can make him laugh.

How old?

Maybe another couple of weeks will make a difference.

And another quick thought:

Your friend's babies didn't bounce around like mad things giggling the first time they were put into a door bouncer. It takes a couple of tries for them to get the hang of the bouncing - particularly if they are very little.

He might love it yet. You just have to give him a little time to work out what to do.

I actually bought it a few months ago when he was 6 months and he didn't seem interested then either, so I've been putting him in it every now and again thinking he'll reach a stage where he loves it..... but he has never enjoyed it, and today I realised that he will not be able to use it soon as he is nearly walking.

My dd didn't like hers either. She would just stand there sort of singing round. If you tried to jump her up and dowm she cried.

Now at 2 she runs everywhere...........

Thanks fizz, nice to know he's not the only one!
Wonder if he's going to be incredibly serious when he's bigger and tell me off for putting cardboard boxes on my head and singing (actually.. this was me as a child, always telling my poor mummy off for being 'silly'!)

My little one was the same until I realised that I hadn't allowed enough slack for her feet to make proper contact with the floor. As soon as I did this, she was off and bouncing like a mad thing.

mine isn't a bouncer either, she used to swing half heartedly in the bouncer. no amount of adjusting made any difference. have lent it to several friends on the condition that I can come round on watch their dc's bounce

Now she's pushing 2 its the same story but with trampolines. Except she very much enjoys licking the mesh (bleugh!) if I don't grab her quickly! she's a rough and tumble, throw me in the air kind of girl and I really thought I was onto a winner with bouncers... you have my sympathy

Aww, they're all different I suppose! He does other very cute things to make up for the lack of bounce!

my ds hated it - he used to spin round in a circle shouting crossly. i think it annoyed him that it wasn't going anywhere. no doubt you'll find lots of other ways of making him laugh!
