I have twins B/G that are 1 years old but 11 months corrected. My LG has only just started babbling and my LB isn’t he only screams ahhhh I try saying mamma/bababa/dadada he looks at my mouth and holds my mouth while you can see his brain ticking. He holds eye contact and answers too his name. He is very active and so close to walking he’s always here there and everywhere but I’m just so deflated that he has been able to babbling yet.

Ah I wouldn't worry too much, sounds like his focus is in other areas! Does he respond to his name? Engage when playing etc? If so, sometimes speech just takes time :)

Thank you for replying! He responds to his name 95%. Sometimes if he’s sneaking off the the kitchen cupboards he won’t answer but he also understands no and come here. He does engage when playing too. He loves to sit and play and also crawl and explore things. I think googling just puts your mind in a frenzy!

Google certainly doesn't help! I always try to look at babies as a whole, rather than focusing on one skill. So much is developing and milestones vary massively over the next couple of years with their peers.

Is he happy/ healthy/ developing/ engaging? If so, he's fine :)

I think the easiest way to find out is to do this simple progress checker but as he’s 11 months corrected I would do the progress checker for 9 month olds.

It will tell you if he needs some support Smile
