23 month daughter - no babbling

My daughter is 23 months:

  • Cannot babble and never has, the only thing she has remotely said is "bwa" which is like once a week.
  • I speak to her everyday and take her out as much as I can also around other kids like her nieces and nephews.
  • She communicates through different tones of E
  • She can crawl but cant walk.
  • Her right foot is twisted when she tries to walk using a walker (she has super hyper mobility in her ankles)
  • She recently headbutts everything when she is startled, doesnt recognise someone or a new place. She headbuts any type of floor including if its concrete or tiled and once she hurts herself she continues headbutting and its increasing how often shes doing it.

Has she been to the GP over not being able to walk @singledad2026? If you’re in the UK the advice is to see the GP at 18 months if there is no independent walking.

If she’s not babbling at all I would do this simple progress checker before you see the GP.

Usually by this age they are beginning to put 2 words together, so she will need a referral for a hearing test to rule out Glue Ear and a referral to SaLT.

If you have been to the GP already, did they refer her to the iscan team?
