Grabbing parents hand

Hi,
My 17 month will grab my hand an odd time and bring me to the playroom or to go outside.
She answers to her name, and has a few words, she points to pictures in books and when you ask her where her brother is she will point and try to say his name.

An odd time she might flap her hands but she seems to do this when excited and an odd day here and there she might walk on her tip toes for a few seconds and that it. She will walk on flat feet.

She plays with toys fine. She is not yet understanding get me this or can i have...

Sorry my reason for this post is because when you search on google it says this is a sign of autism. I was just wondering has any other kids done this?. Thank you for reading my post.🙂

Stop googling. This is all very normal 17 month old behaviour. Enjoy your child. If you have consistent concerns when it comes to their 2 year check raise it then.

If this is the only thing you are seeing, then I wouldn't worry. The internet thinks most things are signs of autism, so I wouldn't take one thing in isolation. It sounds like normal 17month old behaviour to me too.

If you really are worried and there's more, talk to your GP or HV. Autism can't be reliably diagnosed by professionals until at least age 2, anyway.

Edited to add: I agree with PP. Step away from Dr Google and AI. These things are way more complex and human.

Grabbing hand and taking you to show things are not signs of autism - more the opposite. Ditto pointing.
She's interacting with you which is a good sign.

Step away from the internet and enjoy her. It's a lovely phase when they're excited by anything.

Edited to add that flapping hands and walking on toes are both normal at her age too.
